With a cellular alarm monitoring, you will never have to worry about phone service being down. A break in service can stop the signal between your control panel and the central station.
Ever wonder what would happen if your security or fire system was triggered while your phone service was down due to bad weather or if your lines were cut?
The vast majority of security and fire systems installed to date rely on vulnerable above-ground telephone lines to communicate alarm events to the central monitoring station. In the event of an alarm, your alarm system sends a signal through your phone line. Therefore, if your phone line is not operating there is a break in your link to safety.
With cellular alarm monitoring, if the alarm panel does not detect a dial tone, it will automatically switch to the cellular back-up unit. This cell back-up unit will make a “cell phone call” to the cellular network. As a result, it then forwards the signal directly to our central monitoring facility. Even if Internet service AND phone service is down, the GSM cellular backup will still be capable of communicating.
